The challenge
Audiohat is an independent Arabic platform that turns novels into produced audio drama, with family-safe content, offline listening, and apps on the App Store, Google Play, and AppGallery. Its audience in Egypt and Saudi Arabia was growing toward hundreds of thousands of users.
The platform ran as Node.js and React applications on self-hosted Docker. As traffic grew, that setup produced service interruptions and had no headroom for the next wave of listeners. A streaming product cannot pause while the infrastructure catches up.
Our solution
We redesigned the system architecture for performance and scale, and migrated the Node.js and React applications from self-hosted Docker to AWS ECS, so capacity follows demand instead of waiting on a server.
Alongside the migration we secured $5,000 in AWS credits for the platform, so the move to the cloud started with a lower bill, not a higher one.
Results
| Metric | Result |
|---|---|
| Traffic capacity | Increased 3x |
| Service interruptions | Eliminated |
| AWS credits secured | $5,000 |
| Audiobook conversions | Thousands, handled with ease on the new platform |
Business impact
Audiohat now runs on infrastructure built for hundreds of thousands of users. The platform handles thousands of audiobook conversions and streams without the interruptions that came with the self-hosted setup, and the business grows into capacity it did not have to buy up front.
